Week 6
Gone analog...
When I read the prompt for this week’s assignment, I couldn’t think of anything that I could change to analog but after a while I came up with a few ways. My first thought was how I could switch from using Spotify to listening to my vinyl records especially since I have a large collection of them. My first pick of vinyl was the album Hunting High and Low by Aha. I also decided to redo my record display so that I would have more options to listen to. I added some Nat King Cole, Englebert Humperdinck, Frank Sinatra, and Count Basie’s Orchestra. These particular albums turned out to be really good studying music, although I’d never used them for that before.
I also tried to read more books instead of scrolling on Instagram as much. I received an exclusive edition of H.P. Lovecraft’s complete works for my birthday last month, but never found time to read because of time wasted on meaningless scrolling. This week was really enjoyable as I spent time reading in the Anderson Library and wherever I went.
I bought a planner this week to write out everything I had to do instead of making lists or checklists on my phone. I found out that the act of writing things down made it easier to remember than simply typing it on my phone. Even though my phone was able to remind me of all the things I had to do, it was really satisfying to check things off the list.
Along the same lines as using a planner, I found my old alarm clock and started using it instead of the alarm on my phone. Although it was really annoying at first, I got used to the new alarm clock and I think I’ve decided to keep using it after all.
For my rec/playlist analog, I drew a playlist that I will be leaving in either the student union building or in the Anderson library.

Okay update us on the Lovecraft reading
I love your analog, it looks fantastic. I'm glad you enjoyed the process of doing things a bit differently, sounds like you had tons of fun. I personally like to write things down, myself. I can seem to fully comprehend the digital notepad on my own phone.
